Light In Winter 2010

Light In Winter 2010

Light in Winter is Federation Square’s annual winter festival and celebration for community life.

A highlight of the 2010 festival was Solar Equation by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer.

An animated three-dimensional maquette of the Sun, visible at night, hovered over Federation Square, creating an uncanny and spectacular urban landmark.

Solar Equation was a large-scale public art installation that consisted of a faithful simulation of the Sun, 100 million times smaller than the real thing. Commissioned by Fed Square specifically for The Light in Winter in Melbourne.

Raft developed marketing and promotional material in support of the promotion of the Light in Winter Festival 2010.
